A farmer searches for ditch clearing Benwick, never for agricultural services

Most contractor websites have one page called Services. A farmer with a blocked dyke near Benwick doesn't search for agricultural services. They search for ditch clearing Benwick, or crop spraying Doddington, or hedge cutting Manea, and if your site has no page for that village, Google has nothing of yours to show. It shows someone else. We build a page for every service in every village you work in. Before a word is written we check the searches: which places, which services, how many a month, and who you'd have to beat. You only get pages that can win. 6 services across 6 villages is 36 different searches, and every one gets its own page, written for that place.

About 60 minutes from King's Road, so we talk by video first

We're honest about the distance. Our studio is on King's Road in Bury St Edmunds, and March is about 60 minutes away by the A14 and the A142 through Ely. So we won't promise to turn up on your yard every month, and most of the work doesn't need it. The first conversation can be a video call, or you can come to King's Road if you're passing. The research, the build and the monthly report all happen from here, and you can see the work as it goes. This page was researched for March on its own, and our Ely web design page and our Peterborough web design page were each written from scratch the same way.

A monthly March report short enough to read at the farm gate

Once a month you get a short report in plain English. It has 3 parts: what moved, what we added, and what's next. What moved names the March pages that climbed and the village pages that didn't, with a line on why. What we added covers new pages built where the research found a search worth having, say drainage work Christchurch. What's next is the place or service we're tackling the following month. There are no dashboards to log into and no 30 page PDF. It's written for whoever picks up the phone in the farm office, not for a marketing department. If the search work itself interests you most, our SEO page for March goes into it.

Crop spraying March, hedge cutting Manea, the phrases we check first

Before a word of your site is written we do the keyword research and show it to you. Which towns and villages, which services, how many people search each phrase a month and who already ranks. For an agricultural contractor that means weighing crop spraying March against crop spraying Fenland, checking whether baling Wimblington is searched at all or whether the volume sits in the town, and finding phrases out toward Whittlesey and Chatteris that nobody has built a page for yet. The same goes for a welder on an industrial unit or a café on Broad Street. Sometimes the research tells a firm its best page is one it never thought to write.

March plans from £189 a month, sized by how far the tractors travel

The sums are short. 6 services times 6 places is Starter, from £189 a month. 9 times 10 is Business, from £249 a month. 12 times 14 is Market Leader, from £329 a month. For a contractor the question is which of those covers the fields. Starter is March and 5 villages. Business reaches the town, the villages around it and the next market towns. Market Leader runs out toward Wisbech, Peterborough and Ely. Every plan includes the build, hosting, monthly report and SEO. Extra services are £20 a month and extra towns £15 a month on any plan. 12 month minimum, nothing up front, then rolling monthly at the price you signed.

Farm contractors, rail yards and Broad Street shops, the March sectors

March's work comes from the land and the railway. Agriculture runs through the fens around the town, and contractors, grain hauliers and machinery dealers all depend on someone searching for the job and the place. Whitemoor's rail yard is part of the town's story, and engineering and logistics firms work from the industrial units nearby. Then there are the trades serving new housing on the edge of town, roofers, electricians, plumbers, all competing for the same March searches with sites that never name a village. Our trades sector page and our logistics sector page show how we build for each. The model doesn't change: a page for every service in every place, with the research first.

Websites for March businesses that get their work from the fens as much as the town

March has always been a working town. The railway made it, the fen farms feed it, and St Wendreda's Church, with its famous angel roof, draws visitors who don't expect to find it out here. A contractor in March is a plain business: a yard, a few machines, a driver who knows every drove and drain out to Manea. Its website is usually a homepage with a photo of the tractor, a page called Services and a mobile number. When a farmer in Doddington needs ditches cleared before winter and types ditch clearing Doddington into Google, that site has nothing to match, so Google shows a firm from Wisbech or Peterborough instead. Our studio is on King's Road in Bury St Edmunds, about 60 minutes away, so we meet by video call or at King's Road. We build March sites with a page for every service in every village you cover, on one monthly plan from £189 a month covering the Webflow build, the hosting, the upkeep and the search work. SEO included, nothing up front.

How many pages does a March website need?

A farm contractor in March needs a page for ditch clearing Benwick and a page for crop spraying Doddington, not one page called Services. 6 services across 6 villages is 36 different searches, and each one gets its own page.

  • 1Keyword research comes first, so we know which services and which towns people are actually searching for, how often, and who currently holds those results.
  • 2We design and build the site on Webflow, then build a page for every service and town pairing worth going after.
  • 3Every month after that we keep working on it: new pages as the research finds them, pages pushed up the results, and a report showing where you rank. The SEO is in the price.

Move the sliders to see which plan fits. Page counts here are an illustration; the research decides which pages get built, so nothing gets made that cannot win.

Futureproofs web design is a pleasure to work with. Luke exceeded my expectations with the new Grooming Gorgeous website and really took the time to understand my business, our brand and what I wanted the website to achieve. He managed to capture everything I had envisioned and bring it all together even better than I had imagined.

Grooming Gorgeous

Could not recommend FutureProofs enough if you’re looking for a web design and SEO team who actually get how sites need to work now, including ranking in AI search, not just Google. We handed over some genuinely messy sites and they sorted them out properly, fast turnaround, no fuss.

Sam D'Arcy

FutureProofs built the new website for my construction business Fowler Construction and I couldn't be happier with it. I'm a builder, not a computer person, and he made the whole thing easy. He took the time to understand the work I actually want to win, wrote all the content for me, and the finished site looks proper high end.

Jake Fowler · Fowler Construction

We engaged Future Proofs to support the build of our new website, and the experience has been consistently positive from the outset. There was a clear effort to understand not just the visual aspect, but how the brand should be represented more broadly. Communication has been straightforward throughout, with updates and changes handled quickly.

Our old site was a right bodge - slow, not great on mobiles, and no one could find the number to ring. Futureproofs gave it a proper overhaul in Webflow, sorted the content, and put clear buttons for services and quotes. We’re getting more of the right enquiries now they tidied up the Google SEO bits too. Straight talk, delivered when they said they would, and did a tidy job.
