Shopify stores for March businesses, planned from the keyword research, priced by the catalogue

A bulb grower on the fen outside March sells tulips to gardens 200 miles away from one Shopify store, built an hour away in Bury St Edmunds, with the Shopify SEO inside the price and £495 a month at the bottom of the range.

Bulb season moves, so the March store's SEO moves with it

A grower's year has seasons and so does the search for it. Tulip bulbs are typed in September, dahlia tubers in March, wedding flowers after Christmas. The monthly Shopify SEO follows that calendar. Each month the research is reopened and the collection it now justifies gets built, alliums before autumn, dried bunches before the gift season. Product pages on page 2 are rewritten. Guides answer the questions, when to plant tulips in heavy fen soil, how to store dahlia tubers, and link to the right products. The Merchant Center feed is kept truthful about stock, the schema stays valid, the AI files are refreshed, and a March grower gets a plain report. No number is put on the output; the season sets it.

No Shop page gets found for tulip bulbs, in March or anywhere

The grower's website has a Shop page with 25 things on it, and nobody types Shop into Google. In September they type tulip bulbs, or late flowering tulips, or bulb gift box; in spring, dahlia tubers; in the wedding months, wedding flowers Cambridgeshire. With no page of yours about that exact thing, a national bulb merchant or a wedding directory gets the click. Each phrase gets a collection, tulips, dahlias, cut bunches, wedding flowers, gift boxes, with the products that fit and a few lines answering the searcher, plus a page for March and the wedding villages. The research comes first: the phrases, their monthly counts, who owns page 1 today. 5 product types, 4 ways of searching each, makes 20 searches, 20 pages.

Bulb growers, Broad Street shops and rail yard engineers: March sellers online

March is a working town rather than a pretty one, which suits online selling better than you'd expect. The fen farms around it, from Wimblington out to Manea and Benwick, grow bulbs, flowers and vegetables that leave the county by the lorry load and could leave by the parcel too. The engineering and logistics units near Whitemoor hold spares that trade customers would reorder online if a store existed. Broad Street and the Market Place have the independents, each with a few things worth posting. St Wendreda's angel roof brings visitors who'd buy a souvenir. None needs a 2,000 line catalogue, just a store giving each product type its own page, kept up afterwards. The county view is on our Shopify page for Cambridgeshire.

Proof: a reef shop moved from Wix to Shopify around its owner

Marine Spec is the store to look at. Harry sells reef aquarium accessories from home in Suffolk and films the hobby as The Spiritual Reefer. His shop sat on Wix; we rebuilt it on Shopify the way reef keepers search. Wix had listed each colour, size and magnet strength as its own product; folded into options, 31 listings became 24 products with 176 variants. The research gave us 11 collections, every photo got alt text, and each Wix address was redirected. 4 buying guides were written of 15 planned, and the theme, schema and AI files were shaped around Harry, not a template. No sales claims, just the build, shown in the Marine Spec case study. A March grower gets the same method.

Pack sizes as variants: 1 tulip, not 3 listings fighting each other

Bulbs sell by the pack, and that's where a grower's catalogue goes wrong. The same tulip in packs of 10, 25 and 50, a dahlia as a single tuber or a 3 pack, a gift box in 2 sizes, each listed as its own product. 45 listings for 15 things, 3 near identical tulip pages competing, and a buyer unsure which pack to click. We set each variety up once with pack size as the variant, each with its price and stock, alt text naming the variety on every photo, and height, flowering month and planting depth in fields Google reads. For a March grower the payoff is a catalogue that makes sense and a Shopping feed with one entry per plant.

A grower's own theme, quick on a phone out on the fen

Shopify's free themes suit a shop selling 20 things that look alike. A grower selling 200 varieties needs more: filters for colour, flowering month, height and planting season, so a buyer finds a late pink tulip without scrolling; big photographs, because flowers sell on the picture; an add to cart within reach of the thumb; pages that load on a phone in a March car park with 1 bar. We design and build the theme for the grower on Online Store 2.0, not a stock theme with your logo dropped in, and we build in what most shops bolt on with apps. Weddings get an enquiry form. Our Shopify pages for Wisbech, Littleport and Ely are built the same way from different research.

Shopify stores for March growers and shops selling beyond the Fens, with the research done first

March was made by the railway and fed by the fen, and the black soil around it still grows superb bulbs. A grower out towards Manea lifts tulip bulbs in June, dries them in a shed, sells dahlia tubers in spring and cut bunches from a roadside stall, and does the flowers for a dozen weddings a year. The website was built for the weddings. It has lovely photographs, a Shop page with 25 things on it, and no page about tulip bulbs or anything else a gardener in Kent would type into Google in September. So the bulbs go to a wholesaler, and the margin goes with them. Our studio is Inc, on King's Road in Bury St Edmunds. March is about an hour from us by way of Ely and the A141. March businesses get a Shopify store carrying a collection per phrase the research finds, the Shopify SEO kept going each month, and a plan priced by catalogue size, £495 a month upwards.

How many products will a March shop list?

The March grower gets a collection for tulip bulbs, another for dahlia tubers, for cut flower bunches, for wedding flowers and for bulb gift boxes, instead of one Shop page. 5 product types, 4 ways of searching each, makes 20 searches, 20 pages.

  • 1Keyword research comes first, so we know which products and phrases people search for, how often, and who holds those results now.
  • 2We design and build the Shopify store, set the products up properly and build a collection page for every search worth going after.
  • 3Every month after that the Shopify SEO carries on: better collections, buying guides, Shopping feed care and a report on what moved. It is in the price.

Move the sliders to see which plan fits. Variants such as sizes and colours sit inside a product and do not count. The research decides which collection pages get built, so nothing gets made that cannot win.

Futureproofs web design is a pleasure to work with. Luke exceeded my expectations with the new Grooming Gorgeous website and really took the time to understand my business, our brand and what I wanted the website to achieve. He managed to capture everything I had envisioned and bring it all together even better than I had imagined.

Grooming Gorgeous

Could not recommend FutureProofs enough if you’re looking for a web design and SEO team who actually get how sites need to work now, including ranking in AI search, not just Google. We handed over some genuinely messy sites and they sorted them out properly, fast turnaround, no fuss.

Sam D'Arcy

FutureProofs built the new website for my construction business Fowler Construction and I couldn't be happier with it. I'm a builder, not a computer person, and he made the whole thing easy. He took the time to understand the work I actually want to win, wrote all the content for me, and the finished site looks proper high end.

Jake Fowler · Fowler Construction

We engaged Future Proofs to support the build of our new website, and the experience has been consistently positive from the outset. There was a clear effort to understand not just the visual aspect, but how the brand should be represented more broadly. Communication has been straightforward throughout, with updates and changes handled quickly.

Jonathan · Latent Intelligence

We worked with Futureproofs on our coffee shop website and menu design and couldn’t be happier with the result. Luke was brilliant to work with — really easy to communicate with, took the time to understand our brand, and delivered exactly what we were hoping for. The website looks clean and modern, and the menu design has had loads of great feedback already.

Elliott Jackson · Suffolk Garden Maintenance

Our old site was a right bodge - slow, not great on mobiles, and no one could find the number to ring. Futureproofs gave it a proper overhaul in Webflow, sorted the content, and put clear buttons for services and quotes. We’re getting more of the right enquiries now they tidied up the Google SEO bits too. Straight talk, delivered when they said they would, and did a tidy job.
