Overview

A privately owned A frame cabin between the beach and the mountains.

Pops Cabin is a timber A frame lodge at Hafan y Môr holiday park, between Pwllheli and Criccieth on the Llŷn Peninsula. It sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms, has a private balcony with mountain views and free parking, and Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park starts about 20 minutes' drive away.

Guests book it through Airbnb, Booking.com or directly on WhatsApp, and it holds a 4.9 rating from more than 140 reviews. Because it is privately owned rather than run by the park, guests also need things explained that a park booking would cover.

The Challenge

A listing on Airbnb is not a reason to choose this cabin.

On the booking sites Pops Cabin is one listing among hundreds, with the same small photos and the same short description. People searching for a log cabin near Snowdonia want to know what the cabin is really like, what is nearby and how far it is to the mountains and the beach, before they commit to a week.

Private lodge guests at Hafan y Môr are also treated differently from Haven's own guests, with their own rules on Play Passes and facilities, and those rules are easy to get wrong before arrival.

What We Did

A cabin site with 3 guides built from guests' questions.

The homepage walks through the cabin room by room, with a gallery of every space from the balcony to the arcade machine, the amenities listed plainly and the rating near the top. A Things to do section gives the drive or walk time from the cabin door to each place, from Afon Wen beach to Portmeirion and the Snowdon paths.

Guides that answer the questions before they are asked.

‍
3 guides sit behind it: Snowdonia day trips, things to do on the Llŷn Peninsula, and a Hafan y Môr guide for private lodge guests that explains what you can use without a Play Pass, what the pass covers and how to buy it. Each one is written for the searches people make when planning a stay, and each ends with a way to book.

The Design

Big skies, warm timber and the cabin at night.

The design lets the place do the work: a full width photo of the A frame under a blue sky, warm timber interiors in the gallery, and clean white space around the text so the photos stay the focus. The Airbnb and Booking.com buttons sit in every hero and a WhatsApp button follows the guest down the page, so booking is never more than a tap away.

After Launch

Guides that keep earning their place.

The 3 guides give the site something useful to say long after launch, and every new question a guest asks is a candidate for the next one. Each guide links to the others and back to the cabin, so someone who arrives looking for a Snowdon walk leaves knowing where to stay.

This project covered a Webflow site for a holiday let log cabin near Snowdonia: a room by room gallery, 3 local guides and booking through Airbnb, Booking.com and WhatsApp. Our websites for hospitality page shows the approach, and our web design page covers how we build.

Our old site was a right bodge - slow, not great on mobiles, and no one could find the number to ring. Futureproofs gave it a proper overhaul in Webflow, sorted the content, and put clear buttons for services and quotes. We’re getting more of the right enquiries now they tidied up the Google SEO bits too. Straight talk, delivered when they said they would, and did a tidy job. Cheers, lads - would recommend.

Futureproofs rebuilt our website from a clunky Wix template into a clean, fast Webflow site that looks great on any device. They launched Needham Market first, then duplicated and tailored it for our new Stowmarket branch. Since launch we’ve had more online enquiries, customers say it’s easier to find what they need, and we’re now naturally ranking on google for services we struggled with before across Suffolk.
