A 15-minute website Christmas checklist for small business owners in Suffolk: 7 checks, a time budget for each, and when you don't need to pay anyone.

A 7-point check of your hours, contact form, phone experience and listing, so Christmas enquiries reach you instead of disappearing.
Picture a Newmarket café owner on a quiet Sunday evening (a made-up example, but a familiar one). She fills in her own contact form on her phone, like a stranger would. Nothing arrives. The site still shows last year's opening hours. A website Christmas checklist for a small business catches both, and it takes 15 minutes.
FutureProofs builds Webflow sites on monthly plans. That's a bias, so bear it in mind. Nearly everything below is free.
Seven things. About 15 minutes in all. Work down the table and write down what fails rather than fixing it as you go. The times are our own budget, not a statistic.
Google reads your site and your listing together. Our post on local SEO for Bury St Edmunds businesses explains how.

The ones that stop a visitor reaching you. Someone who can't tell whether you're open, or can't get through, doesn't wait. They ring the next business.
Check the site and your Google Business Profile separately. They often disagree, because someone updated one and forgot the other. Fix the site first, then add special hours to the profile.
Submit it from your phone, as a customer would, then check the inbox and spam folder. No message, no pass. The usual culprit is the notification address in your form settings.
Load the site on mobile data, not Wi-Fi, and tap your number. Take a Stowmarket plumber (hypothetical) whose "call now" is plain text. Someone with a burst pipe won't copy and paste it. Google's PageSpeed Insights gives a second opinion.
Walk the route from the homepage to a finished booking or voucher purchase. Imagine a Sudbury salon (hypothetical) whose voucher button leads to a dead page in the busiest weeks. You'd never know unless you clicked. If your trade lives on bookings, see our page on web design for hospitality businesses.
Scan your service pages for old prices and expired offers. An Ipswich shop (hypothetical) still showing last season's discount invites arguments at the till. 1 minute to find, 2 to fix.
Got special hours or an offer? Put one clear line at the top of the homepage. Then search your business name on your phone, and your main service plus your town. A stale title or description means your page title or meta description needs editing.
If you can edit your own site and listing, the checklist costs nothing and you shouldn't buy anything. We're also the wrong answer if your site works, or if the fixes are small and your developer replies within a day. Keep them.
A monthly plan is worth a look only when the check finds something broken and nobody's answering. FutureProofs plans are from £189 a month, with SEO, hosting and content edits on request included, and nothing to pay up front. The minimum term is 12 months, then it rolls monthly. Leave after that and we move the site into your own Webflow account for a one off £250. The full breakdown is on our plans and pricing page.
About 15 minutes, if you only note what fails. Fixing is separate.
Add special hours for every closed or shortened day to your Google Business Profile, then make your website say the same. Afterwards, search your business on your phone and read what Google shows, because that's what customers see first.
Submit it yourself from your phone, with a different email address. Check the receiving inbox and the spam folder. Nothing after a few minutes? Look at the notification address in your form settings before you assume the form is fine.
Usually not. One clear line near the top of the homepage covering hours, closures or an offer does the job. A dedicated page earns its place only if you sell gift vouchers, hampers or seasonal bookings that need explaining.

Open your own site on your phone, on mobile data, and submit your own form. Screenshot your Google listing's hours and compare them with the website. Change whatever takes 2 minutes. Write down anything that needs someone else, and how long they take to answer.
Send us your current site and the towns you cover. We'll tell you which pages are missing or broken, even if you never hire us. Start a project.
