The Arrogant BBQ

Texas-Style BBQ. Norfolk Attitude.

Project overview

The Arrogant BBQ isn’t here to be “nice.” It’s here to be memorable - Texas-style smoke, big flavour, zero fluff. The founders wanted a brand presence that matched the food: bold, unapologetic and built for growth across Norfolk. They were already winning hearts with ribs, brisket, pulled pork and sticky burnt ends; what they needed was a digital engine that channels demand - weekday takeaways, weekend sell-outs, and a catering pipeline for weddings, corporate events, markets and festivals. We refined the identity, built an SEO-optimised website that moves people from hunger to action, and rolled out print assets - business cards, flyers and menus—that feel as punchy as the brand voice. With ongoing marketing support, we keep the fire stoked: steady local search gains, cleaner campaign tracking, and creative that converts appetite into orders and bookings.

What we did

Logo refinements & visual system
The core mark had energy; we tightened it. We refined spacing, weights and lockups so the logo holds up on everything from a greasy napkin to a six-metre banner. We built a stripped-back colour palette—smoke black, ember red, bone white—plus a gritty accent texture inspired by char and steel. Typography pairs a condensed headline face (for those loud, no-nonsense statements) with a legible workhorse for menus and body copy. Iconography covers core offer pillars—ribs, brisket, pulled pork, burnt ends, sauces—so signage and menus communicate fast. A compact brand guide locks in voice (“No Bullsh*t.” direct, confident, never crass), layout rules and photography direction (tight crops, rising smoke, stacks of meat, real hands at work).

Print that sells (business cards, flyers, menus)
Business cards double as mini-offers with scannable QR for Deliveroo and catering enquiries. Flyers were designed for two roles: local radius drops (high-impact headline, map pin, service hours) and event handouts (menu highlights, “Book us for your next one” callout). The menu suite includes dine-in/collection, pop-up/event, and catering menus. We designed for speed of choice: clear category hierarchy, chef notes on specials, allergen keys and price visibility that keeps queues moving. Heavy-stock options resist sauce and condensation; a digital version compresses cleanly for mobile sharing.

SEO-optimised website
We built a fast, mobile-first site that speaks like the brand and ranks like a local leader. The homepage hits with the promise—Texas style BBQ done right—and a sticky “Order Now on Deliveroo” call to action. Service routes split cleanly: Order, Catering, Events. Menu pages are structured for search and conversion: descriptive dish copy (not just names), FAQs on reheats/leftovers, and obvious allergen info. The Catering hub sells the experience—weekday office drops to full-scale weddings—through package tiers, per-head pricing guidance, sample menus, logistics checklists and an enquiry form that captures date, headcount, dietary needs and power/water access. A Locations/Areas page targets Norfolk-centric searches with natural copy and proof points from recent gigs. On-page SEO covers titles, H1/H2s, internal linking and schema for LocalBusiness, Menu and Event. We wired in GA4 and server-side events for clicks to Deliveroo, form submits and phone taps, so every campaign can be measured against orders and enquiries.

Local SEO & content
We mapped keywords around intent: “Norfolk BBQ”, “Texas BBQ Norfolk”, “BBQ catering Norfolk”, “wedding BBQ Norfolk”, “corporate catering Norfolk”, plus dish-level searches for ribs, brisket and burnt ends. Location content speaks to Norwich, King’s Lynn, Thetford and market towns, but keeps the copy human—venues we’ve served, power requirements for pits, winter setups, marquee considerations. We built a lightweight content plan with evergreen guides like BBQ Wedding Catering: what to know before you book, Feeding 50 vs 200 with a smoker, and How we source local produce, each with clear CTAs back to the catering form.

Ongoing marketing support
We manage the monthly drumbeat: Google Business Profile updates (new photos, weekly posts, menu highlights), seasonal landing pages (Super Bowl spreads, summer festivals, Christmas markets), and UTM-tagged promos that track through to Deliveroo clicks and catering leads. Social creative templates keep the grid consistent—smoke, stacks and smiles—with short, punchy captions. We run small, tightly-geofenced campaigns around service windows and event calendars, then shift budget to the dishes and messages that actually move orders. Review prompts (QR at pickup, link in post-purchase emails) build steady social proof without begging. Quarterly check-ins tune menus, copy and ad angles based on what people actually buy.

Operations & experience polish
Progressive image loading, minimal scripts and big tap targets make the site work on sticky fingers and spotty 4G. Forms confirm instantly and route to the right inbox with structured summaries that make quoting fast. Menu data lives in a CMS so the team can turn items on/off, flag sold-out dishes and update specials without breaking layout. Accessibility gets real attention: contrast, focus states, alt text and readable line lengths so everyone can find lunch.

Outcome & impact

The Arrogant BBQ now shows up the way it cooks—confident, consistent and unmistakably local. The brand system looks sharp on cards, flyers, menus, boards and social. The site answers intent in seconds: order now, see the menu, book catering. Local visibility is up across “BBQ catering Norfolk” and related terms, with steady growth on dish-level searches that convert to Deliveroo clicks. Catering enquiries increased as packages and pricing became clearer; venue planners and couples can see exactly how service scales, what power the pits need and how indoor/winter setups work. With tracking in place, the team knows which promos sell brisket and which headlines fill the calendar.
